LATEST NEWS AND EVENTS AT HUNT VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL:
ATTENTION CLIENTS: Canine influenza is a new virus of dogs. Like other respiratory diseases, this starts with a cough and is hard to differentiate from ordinary kennel cough in the beginning. This is a new virus with no natural immunity. Therefore, every dog that is exposed will contract the disease. Boarding and grooming facilities, dog shows, and dog parks are at greatest risk. As of January 1, 2010, Hunt Valley Animal Hospital requires the canine influenza vaccination for all boarding and grooming pets. The vaccine, initially, is a series of two boosters given 2-4 weeks apart. It must be given at least 5 days prior to coming in for boarding or grooming. Please call us with any questions regarding this emerging disease in dogs. For more information, please click here
